AzMerit Students
AzMerit 2019 Perfect Scores
Some great recognition for some of our outstanding students. We had six of our students score 100% on their AzMerit Math test last year. Those students are: Sol Ayala, Victor Ayala, Dexter Alldridge, Kameron Johnson, Bear Staples, and Delores White. Sol Ayala not only scored a 100% on her AzMerit Math test, but alos scored a 100% on her ELA. This is also Victor Ayala's second year in a row he scored a 100% on his math. Each of these students will receive a check for $100 for their outstandiing performance on the AzMerit test. Sol will receive $200. Checks will be mailed out next week. Congratulations to these awesome students!!
New from Governor Doug Duecy
Center of Disease Control Guidelines
Under the direction of Governor Doug Duecy, Ash Fork Schools are closed until the end of the school year.
Thank you for your patience in this unprecedented time. We understand many families are in need of internet access. We have some WiFi hotspots ordered, but are unsure of their arrival. The Ash Fork Public Library has free WiFi that extends outside their building. Most cell phone providers will lift data caps if you call them and tell them that your student is using it for distance learning. Stay safe!
I know that we are all struggling to make this Google Classroom distance learning work. Please make sure you are signing in with your school issued Google Account. If you go to classroom.google.com and it doesn't ask for you to login, you are more than likely logged in with your personal Google account. You need to log out, and log back in with your username ending with @afjusdspartans.org.
As mandated by the state of Arizona, Ash Fork Schools will be closed through April 10th.
If you haven't already, please fill out our technology survey by Sunday, March 22nd. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CSZWGYJ
This survey will give us a better idea of what our students need. Thank you for your cooperation!
Starting Monday March 23 food boxes will be provided for all community members under 18.
The boxes will be available in front of the school between 9-11:00 AM, and will include both breakfast and lunch.
We are planning to deliver these meals via established bus routes in the near future. Schedules will be provided please stay posted.
The staff at Ash Fork Schools and your children have worked too hard to let our academic growth be diminished during the Covid-19 emergency. Administrators, teachers, and staff members are currently working on ways to empower our families to continue learning at home.
Many resources will be computer based but we are also looking into ways to help families that do not have access to computers. This will be a great test of both our academic staff and caring families, but together we can make some amazing things happen!
We now have a COVID-19 Response and Resources page on our website: http://www.afjusd.org/o/ash-fork-jusd-31/page/covid-19-response-and-resources
Ash Fork Schools will begin providing boxed breakfast and lunch meals for children in the community on March 23rd, 2020 between 9-11 AM. The package will contain both breakfast and lunch in order to save the burden of taking two trips per day. These meals will be very basic and utilized for children in need and depend on the school's food program to sustain adequate nutrition. More information will be given on how the food will be distributed.

I’m sure that we have all heard some discussion on the recent issues surrounding the coronavirus. I want to give some recommendations and also inform you of what we are doing here at Ash Fork Schools.
At this time, school closures are not recommended by the Arizona Department of Health Services or any county Department of Public Health.
We will close schools if we do receive notifications from these entities to do so.
Many of you are way cooler than my family and actually did something fun this Spring Break. These activities may have included extensive travel or being in public venues where possible exposure may have occurred.
Whether you went somewhere or not it is important to keep your child home if they are ill, especially if they have respiratory issues. We are giving staff the same recommendation and expectation.
We understand that our school being one hundred percent free and reduced meals means that many children rely on our federal breakfast and lunch program. If the need arises we will try to help with meals that are delivered or given to home-bound sick students. Obviously this will involve processes that do not expose the employee delivering the meal. The school district is also committed to doing our best to provide academic materials as well.
Though the custodial staff always increases sanitation during flu season they are increasingly vigilant in their efforts to keep the school and school vehicles as sanitized as possible during this epidemic.
All forms of communication will occur through our phone messenger, Facebook Page, website, and app.
Thanks for Your Support,
Seth Staples
Don’t forget picture retakes!!
Due to the outstanding commitment of our students, staff and community to Ash Fork schools annual blood drives, our school has won, the highest percentage of participation in the state wide high school challenge for blood donors. We compete against all other high schools in the state and have kept this top award for the past 6 years in a row!!!!!
Our student donors, STUCO blood drive committee members and selected staff, will be guests at the Diamond Back baseball game on April 15th. We will be honored mid field prior to the first pitch and get to enjoy the game in one of the VIP party suites!
Thank you one and all for supporting our blood drives and keeping us as Number 1.
