Welcome Back Ash Fork Middle School!
Dear Middle School Families, welcome back to a new school year. This year, Ash Fork Middle School has some exciting changes. The first exciting change is that the middle school now has a dedicated social studies and science teacher. The new teacher is Mr. Sanderson, but he likes to go by Mr. DJ. The next exciting change is that the middle school will now end the school day at 2:45 instead of 4:00.
From 2:45-4:00, the middle school will be providing RTI (after school intervention). Parents can expect all of their middle schoolers to go home at 2:45 the first week of school (July 19-July 22). RTI will be starting the second week of school (July 26). Next week, the middle school will notify parents to inform them if their child needs to stay until 4:00 for RTI. There will be a 4:00 bus route to take intervention students home.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact the school or one of the middle school teachers.

Ash Fork Middle School Volleyball 2021
This season has been rewarding for both the coaches and athletes. There were enough athletes to create three teams this year. The season started right after spring-break and was over 5 weeks later. During that time, the Lady Spartans were committed to the sport. None of the students were ever on grade check and attended all practices. The I-40 A-team tournament was held in Seligman this year. Our A-team went three games with Parks in the championship match. Ash Fork A-team took 2nd place. Jordyn and Andrea are the teams’ defensive players. Aspen and Jamie play the opposite hitting position for the Lady Spartans. The A-team is led by outside hitters Eva and Gracie, setter Isabella, and defensive player Aura.
The B-team I-40 tournament was held in Parks this year. Our B-team went three games with Williams in the Championship match. The Lady Spartans took 1st place in the tournament. The B-team was undefeated all season long. They are led by the setters Arlette and Crystal. Our C-team also competed in this tournament and places 3rd place against all odds.
We would like to wish the 8th graders success in high school: Aspen, Jamie, Heaven, Lesly, Jessie, Andrea, Reese, and Paula. We thank you for your dedication and look forward to coaching you in high school.
Love your coaches,
Erika Acosta & Lauren Hume
Leaving Arizona Hot Springs April 30, 2021.
On April 28, 2021 Ash Fork eighth graders, freshman, and seniors went on a three day canoe trip through Black Canyon on the Colorado River.
On May 11, 2021 Ash Fork Middle School students hiked twelve miles in the Grand Canyon from Bright Angel Trail to Plateau Point for their PE final.
The end of the regular school year is now upon us. Many of our students still have library books checked out to them that need returned. Unfortunately we will have to ask the families of the students that don't return books to pay for them. Families of students with outstanding books will receive a message indicating that they are missing books.

Whiskey Basin 10K Run
Natalie Broehm, Monica Holladay, Carrie Sotelo and myself (Sonny Martin) did a 10K run today, April 18. We all finished and I just finished under 2 hours. It was a very hard 10K. Not much running, but more of climbing and going down rocks through a trail through the Granite Dells by Watson Lake. It was a beautiful day to do it as the weather was great. I hope to do another one in October, but only if it’s not through the mountains. I’m glad I did it. Hopefully in October we can get more Ash Fork staff to join us. Great job everyone!
Thank you Ash Fork Family Dollar and The Community of Ash Fork for the candy!!! Perfect timing for testing season, team building and end of year send off!!!
Many of you have probably heard about our awesome community members that have planned a Prom Event for our high school students at Lulu Belles this Wednesday. The district is excited for our students to have a good time at this event. The district has made some small contributions to the event, but would like to make a point of clarification that this is not a district sanctioned event. We hope all students involved will have a great time with their peers. Thanks to Lulu Belles, who has always supported the district, and others in our community for coming together. Be safe have fun!!!!
