For those of you I have not had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Ashley Sanderson, and I am the new K-8 Special Education teacher. I have been a Special Education teacher for 11 years now and am looking forward to joining my Husband (Mr. DJ) as a teacher in this great community! I have enjoyed getting to know the dedicated staff and wonderful students this quarter and look forward to seeing the growth and accomplishments we make this year.
My goals this year are to increase awareness, and support by providing additional staff training about students with disabilities. We are off to a great start, and have begun a training program, recommended by Arizona Department of Education (ADE), called AFIRM- Autism Focused Intervention Resource Modules. We are excited to have this new resource to best support our growing population of students on the Autism Spectrum.
