Welcome to Art Class

The end of the school year is upon us and so is the end of some incredibly fabulous pieces of art created by my classes.

The third quarter ended with our extensive interpretations of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.”  The students finished up with the end of the four seasons, this time with a “summer” theme.  All four seasons of each student’s art is on display in the Art Gallery and the Portico.  Look vertically and you’ll see each student’s work by season.  If you look horizontally, you’ll see a single season by each artist.

Chilling out a bit from our intensive “seasons,” we did a pour paint on crosses.  These were very popular last year and this year was no exception.  You’ll notice some very vibrant colors dripping in various designs.

For this year’s Art Final, each student was to choose a particular School of Art (Impressionism, Abstract Expressionism, Cubism, Pop Art for example).  From that school, they then needed to find an artist whose works they admired and create an original piece based on that artist’s style.  In addition, they were required to write a short essay about the School of Art they choose, the artist they wanted to emulate, and what they liked about creating an original piece of art.  Shown below are their creations which are displayed in the hallway between the Gym and Multi-Purpose Room.

Expect more from these creative students next year!

2022 – 2023 ASH FORK STARTAN’S YEARBOOK

A big thank you to my “volunteer” army of students (Jaydon Horner, Alee Grenger, Kystal Baker, Nina Hall, Patrisha Blancher, Nevaeh Mann, Aspen Bond, Julissa Nixon, Miranda Aguirre, and Violeta Pedraza-Trujillo) were responsible for getting the yearbook completed and delivered before the end of the school year.  The books were ordered on a Wednesday and delivery the following Monday! Even though some end-of-the-year activities were not included because of our cut-off date, we’ll be including them in a special section of next year’s book. The best part is that we sold out ALL BOOKS!
